Which one should you buy?
FileNav X is not simply FileNav Pro sold somewhere else. It is missing two things, and they are the reason to choose one over the other: remote servers over SFTP, FTP and SSH, and Google Drive. Everything else is there — dual panes, the folder tree, folder sync, snapshots, archives, the disk visualizer, Dropbox and OneDrive.
Choose FileNav Xif you work with files on your Mac and in Dropbox or OneDrive, and you would rather buy through Apple: one-click install, updates with the rest of your apps, Apple’s refund process, no licence key to manage.
Choose FileNav Pro if you connect to servers, or use Google Drive. Those are not a paid upgrade withheld from this edition — they cannot ship in it at all, for the reasons below.
What you get
What is not in this edition
Worth knowing before you buy, not after. If you need either of these, buy FileNav Pro from this site instead.
Both editions are built from the same source, so everything outside those two areas behaves identically and gets the same updates.
No analytics, no tracking
FileNav X contains no analytics framework, no tracking and no telemetry. It does not report which files you open or how you use it. Its App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected, and that is the whole story.
Your files stay on your Mac unless you connect Dropbox or OneDrive yourself and choose what to move — and then they travel directly between your Mac and that provider, never through us. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
