Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 6, 2026

Welcome to FileNav. This Privacy Policy explains how PT Titian Rampoeng Nusantara ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit our website or use the FileNav application for macOS. It covers all three editions — FileNav, FileNav Pro, and FileNav X on the Mac App Store.

As a File Manager application, trust is paramount, so this policy is specific rather than reassuring. The FileNav app contains no analytics and no tracking of any kind — though this website does use analytics and advertising measurement, which we describe below. Your files stay on your Mac, with one exception we state plainly: when you connect a cloud account yourself, the files you choose are sent to that provider — directly, never through us.

Which Editions This Policy Covers

This policy covers three editions of FileNav, which behave differently:

FileNav (free) — a purely local file manager. It has no cloud or remote features and no purchase data.

FileNav Pro (sold on this website) — adds Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive, plus SFTP and FTP connections to servers you specify. Licensed with a key.

FileNav X (Mac App Store) — adds Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive. It is sandboxed by macOS, has no license-key system, and does not check for updates itself; Apple handles that.

Your Files

FileNav is a local application. Browsing, organizing, moving, renaming, compressing and extracting all happen on your Mac. These operations involve no network connection at all, and your files are never sent to us.

We operate no servers that receive your files, in any edition. There is no FileNav cloud and no FileNav account.

Cloud storage and remote connections are the one exception, and they are described in full below. They are strictly opt-in: nothing leaves your Mac until you connect an account yourself and choose what to transfer.

Cloud Storage and Remote Connections

FileNav Pro and FileNav X can connect to third-party storage services. When you connect an account and then copy, sync, open or upload a file, that file is transmitted between your Mac and that provider. This is what you are asking the app to do, and it is the only circumstance in which your file content travels over the network.

That transfer is direct. It goes from your Mac to the provider and does not pass through any server of ours, because we have none. We never receive, store, inspect or have any technical means of accessing the files you transfer.

Once a file reaches a provider, it is governed by that provider's own privacy policy — Dropbox, Microsoft or Google respectively. For SFTP and FTP in FileNav Pro, files travel between your Mac and the server address you enter; that server is yours or your organization's, and we have no visibility into it.

Signing in: authentication happens on the provider's own sign-in page, not inside a form we control. We never see your password. The resulting access token is stored in your Mac's Keychain, encrypted by macOS, and is sent only back to the provider that issued it. Disconnecting the account in Settings deletes that token from the Keychain.

No Analytics, Tracking or Telemetry in the App

The FileNav app contains no analytics framework, no tracking, no telemetry and no crash reporting service. It does not report which files you open, which features you use, how often you launch it, or anything else about your activity. There is nothing to opt out of, because nothing is collected.

The only network requests any edition makes are the ones described in this policy: the cloud and remote transfers you initiate, license validation in FileNav Pro, and FileNav Pro's update check.

This applies to the application. The website at filenav.app does use analytics and advertising measurement, which is described separately below.

Purchase and Licensing

FileNav X (Mac App Store): purchased through Apple. Apple processes the payment and provides us only aggregate sales reporting. We never receive your name, email address or payment details. The app contains no license-key system and never contacts a licensing server.

FileNav Pro (this website): payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record, who collects your email (for license delivery), full name, country or region (for tax) and payment details. We do not view or store credit or banking information — Lemon Squeezy handles this. The app contacts Lemon Squeezy's API to validate your license key and confirm you have a valid copy.

FileNav (free): no purchase data of any kind.

Software Updates

FileNav and FileNav Pro check for new versions by fetching an update feed hosted on GitHub Pages. This request tells us nothing about you personally; as with any web request, the host receives your IP address and the app version being checked.

FileNav X does not check for updates. App Store editions are updated by Apple, and the update mechanism is not present in the app at all.

The Website (filenav.app)

The website is separate from the app, and unlike the app it does use analytics and advertising measurement. This applies only while you are visiting filenav.app, and never inside FileNav itself.

Umami: a privacy-focused analytics service that records aggregate visit statistics such as page views, referring site and approximate country. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you across websites.

Google Ads (gtag.js): used to measure whether our advertising works. It records when a visit leads to a download or a purchase, and it does set cookies for this purpose. Depending on your browser and location, this may involve Google associating the visit with its own advertising identifiers, as described in Google's privacy policy.

You can prevent both by using your browser's tracking protection, an ad or script blocker, or your browser's cookie controls. Blocking them has no effect on downloading or using FileNav.

Standard technical data such as your IP address and browser type is also received by our hosting provider, as it is by any website you visit.

How We Use Your Information & Third-Party Services

The limited information collected is used to deliver license keys, verify valid copies of FileNav, support users with technical issues or refunds, and notify about app updates or critical patches.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it beyond what is needed to provide these functions. The third parties involved are: Lemon Squeezy for payments on this website (see lemonsqueezy.com/privacy), Apple for App Store purchases, the storage providers you personally choose to connect, and — on the website only — Umami and Google Ads.

Data Security

We and our partners use industry-standard security to protect your purchase data. Cloud access tokens and license keys are stored in the macOS Keychain rather than in plain files. Transfers to cloud providers use encrypted HTTPS connections.

Your local files are protected by your Mac's own security. Please keep macOS updated to maximize that protection. If you use FTP in FileNav Pro, note that FTP is an unencrypted protocol by design — prefer SFTP where your server supports it.

Your Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR in Europe, CCPA in California), you may have data rights such as access, correction, or deletion of data held by our payment provider. Contact us if you wish to exercise these rights; we'll guide you with Lemon Squeezy.

To revoke FileNav's access to a cloud account at any time, disconnect it in Settings, or remove the app from the connected-apps page of Dropbox, Microsoft or Google.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the "Last Updated" date above will change with it, and the current version will always be published at this address.
